19th Annual New Texas Talent August 4 – September 1, 2012

Artists and Juror in attendance from 5 PM to 8PM
Each year we invite a different juror to select the pieces for the exhibition. We find the final selection is very interesting and telling of each juror. This year we invited Lollie Tompkins, Visual Arts Coordinator, Booker T. Washington High School For The Performing and Visual Arts, to be the juror. Tomkins was presented the challenge of reviewing over 1000 entries.
This year Tompkins selected over 50 pieces of art. Each year CGG selects several “Gallery Picks” and this year we chose 4 artists. NTT guidelines ask that each artist must reside in Texas and we received work from all regions of the state. Artist ages are from 18 to over 70 and their works are in all mediums including photography, sculpture, painting, prints, and mixed medium constructions.
As has happened each year, we find the work to be professional, very interesting and most important, incredible evidence of the regional talent we have in Texas.
